OUR BOOKING PROCESS
We're excited to capture your special moments! Here's a breakdown of our booking process:
1. Schedule Your Session:
- Visit our online booking system powered by Acuity Scheduling: Booking Page.
- Browse our available dates and times for your desired session type (e.g., family portraits, weddings, events).
- Select a time slot that works for you and confirm your details.
- Our availability in certain locations follows a structured schedule designed around when and where our clients need us the most. However, not every date is always fully booked. If a specific date you're interested in isn't available, please email us so we can check if we can accommodate your request.
2. Secure Your Session:
- To hold your desired date, a deposit is required.
- Most Sessions: A 50% deposit is required to confirm your booking.
- Exception for Smaller Sessions: For certain session types (e.g., mini sessions), full payment may be required at the time of booking. These types of sessions are nonrefundable.
- Payment options include secure online payment through Square, ACH, Credit/Debit (Booking with a deposit is required in order to use this form of payment.).
3. Contract & Pre-Session Communication:
- Upon booking, you will receive our photography contract via email.
- Please review and electronically sign the contract to solidify your session details.
- The contract outlines our service agreement, cancellation policy, and other important information.
- You can expect to receive reminders about your upcoming session 72 hours, 48 hours, and 28 hours before your session. Including directions to our studio, information on how to further prepare for your session, and payment and cancellation policy reminders.
- The time between booking your session and your first reminder email is the perfect opportunity to fuel your creative fire! Here are some ways to get hyped and prepared:
- Location Scouting: Love that park or landmark? Do some research online to find the best photogenic spots within the location.
- Pose Like a Pro: Feeling a little camera shy? Check out online tutorials or magazines for some posing inspiration. Practice a few poses in front of a mirror to feel confident and natural.
- Prop It Up: Got any special items that reflect your personality or session theme? Don't be afraid to incorporate unique props! Think about flowers, instruments, vintage finds, or anything that adds a special touch.
4. Remaining Balance:
- At least 2 days before your session, we will send you a reminder email about your upcoming session and any remaining balance due.
- Please ensure your remaining balance is settled before your session date.
- If your credit card information on file needs updating for any reason, please don't hesitate to let us know at least 3 days in advance. This ensures a smooth payment process and avoids any potential delays.
5. Pre-Session Confirmation:
- You can expect to receive a confirmation text from your photographer 1-2 days before your session.
- This brief chat allows us to:
- Confirm session details (location, time, etc.)
- Address any questions you may have
- Ensure you're well-prepared for your session

Add Ons
Add-ons personalize your photoshoot! Extend your session, include loved ones, add locations, incorporate props, or expedite photo delivery - it's your vision, your way.
Travel & Locations
We’re based in Baton Rouge, but happy to travel. Sessions within city limits are free, while outside Downtown Baton Rouge cost $75 per hour.
After Hour Sessions
For those who prefer the softer light of late afternoon with dramatic flair, “Night Owl Sessions” are available after 5:00 pm. Capture stunning sunset photos with beautiful lighting.
Note: An additional $75 fee applies to Night Owl Sessions.
Studio Usage
Enjoy a studio experience with controlled lighting and diverse backdrops. Add studio time to any package for full or partial use. Contact us for backdrop options.
Selecting A Location
Schedule your session easily with our online calendar. Choose from our listed locations or select “Travel Sessions” for custom locations to get a travel fee quote.
Additional Time
We’ve discontinued the option to add extra time to sessions. Please carefully select the time that suits you best when choosing the package that aligns with your needs.
Extra Person
It’s fine to have an extra person in your session, but let us know beforehand. Families and large groups should book under the Family/Large Group category.
Rescheduling Fee
Need to reschedule your session? We’re flexible, but changes made within 48 hours of your scheduled session may incur a fee to cover potential losses and disruptions to our workflow. For more details, please refer to your contract.
Cancelling a session will result in a nonrefundable deposit, which is the amount you paid us when you booked. Therefore, please be mindful when booking with us.
Final Rescheduling Fee
We understand that life happens! While we strive to be flexible, last-minute changes can impact our schedule. To ensure fairness and maintain our booking calendar, a final rescheduling fee may apply to changes requested close to your session date.
Here's why:
- Last-minute changes can make it difficult to fill the vacated session slot.
- We may have turned down other bookings to accommodate your original session time.
The specific fee and timeframe for this policy will be outlined in your contract.
Open Communication is Key:
If you need to reschedule, please let us know as soon as possible. The earlier we hear from you, the more likely we are to find a mutually agreeable solution.
Late Fee
Our photographers have demanding schedules, and tardy arrivals may disrupt subsequent sessions.
Your session may be canceled if we are unable to meet the time constraints.
Please inform us if you are running behind schedule.
Rush Fee
Want your edited photos sooner?
We usually deliver edited images within 10 to 14 business days. However, if you prefer a faster turnaround, we offer a rush fee add-on.
With this fee, you can receive your final images in just 2 to 3 business days. This means you can pay for the rush fee when you pick your proofs, so after you’ve already taken your pictures.
Please note that all images must be rushed at once. We cannot edit one or a few photos at a time. If you choose the rush fee option, you must pay for it upfront to ensure a faster delivery.
Squeeze In Fee
Last-Minute Session? We Might Help!
We strive to accommodate everyone, but our schedule fills up rapidly. If you need a session on short notice, we might be able to squeeze you in with a squeeze-in fee. This fee helps us compensate for any adjustments we need to make to our existing schedule.
Planning ahead allows us to provide you with the best possible session experience.
Booking at least 2 months in advance is ideal and ensures that the photographer’s full attention and availability are dedicated to you.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What area are you located in?
Our centrally located studio resides within Achroma Studios at the Electric Depot in Baton Rouge, LA. This convenient location allows us to serve clients throughout the city and a quick drop from the interstate for our clients.
Travel Availability:
We're happy to travel on-site for your session. We serve clients throughout the United States and internationally.
Travel Fees:
Please note that travel fees apply for locations exceeding 10 miles from Downtown Baton Rouge, beginning at $75/hr
How far in advance should I book?
To ensure a comfortable timeframe for both photo production and session planning, we recommend booking your session:
- At least 2 months in advance for standard availability. This allows you ample time to prepare and for us to deliver your final photos.
- At least 3 months in advance during peak season (January-May and October-December). This increases your chances of securing your ideal date and time.
Peak Season Note:
During peak season (January-May and October-December), our calendar fills up quickly. Booking further in advance helps guarantee the date and time that best suits your needs.
What are proofs?
We aim to deliver your watermarked, unedited proofs within 2-3 business days via email. These proofs serve as a selection tool for the editing process. Please be aware that rushing this process is not available.
Also known as Raw Images.
Unedited Images & Leftovers:
We don't offer unedited (raw/proofs) images as part of our standard packages. The editing process is a key part of creating the beautiful, finished photographs you'll receive. However, if you'd like additional edits beyond what's included in your package, we offer those as a separate add-on.
Leftover images, also known as "outtakes," are generally not included.
Image Backups & Liability:
To ensure long-lasting enjoyment of your photos, we recommend creating backups of your downloaded images.
By purchasing the original files, you acknowledge that Superior Shots Photography LLC. is not liable for any loss or damage to the images after delivery. We also reserve the right to not maintain copies of your digital files after a certain period.
Printing Recommendations:
While you can print your photos at any service, we highly recommend using a professional printing lab for the highest quality results. Superior Shots Photography LLC. cannot be held responsible for any dissatisfaction with prints made using low-quality printing services.
Studio Availability:
While our booking system reflects studio availability, there may be rare instances where a scheduling conflict arises. In such cases, we'll prioritize existing studio bookings. However, we'll contact you as soon as possible to discuss alternative solutions, which could include:
- Rescheduling your session to a date and time with studio availability.
- Arranging an alternative location for your session (if your package allows).
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.
Do consultation fees go towards my service if booked?
Consultation fees are separate and not applied towards session costs.
Rush Editing:
We understand that some clients might require their photos sooner for specific occasions like invitations or social media posts. However, to guarantee the quality and consistency of our work, we prioritize editing on a first-come, first-served basis. If a quicker turnaround is essential, a rush editing fee can be applied to expedite the entire collection of photos.
- Expedited Processing (2-3 Business Days):
- Up to 10 photos: $200 fee
- Entire photo selection (exceeding 10 photos): $300+
Please note: Rush editing is applied to the entire photo selection, not individual photos.
We reserve the right to refuse rush service or discontinue any re-editing if any client exhibits disruptive or disrespectful behavior such as unreasonable demands or critiques that hinder the photographer's workflow.
My booking confirmation shows a different price than the contract. Could you clarify this discrepancy?
If you notice a change in your remaining balance, it may be due to:
- Requested session adjustments.
- Missed add-on selection.
- Incorrect service booking.
Refund Policy:
We maintain a strict no-refund policy for sessions, services, deposits, and edited images.
Rescheduling:
Rescheduling your session is permitted with at least 48 hours’ notice before the original date. However, a $75 rescheduling fee will be charged for studio sessions.
Editing & Turnaround Time:
We offer exclusively edited images. Unedited versions are not available for purchase.
Your final edited images will be delivered within 10-14 business days after you confirm your selections.
Could I buy all or some of my photos at once for a discount, either because I love them all and don't need editing, or just because I want them all together?
Great question! We understand you'd love all your photos. While we only offer edited images, we do provide discounts for purchasing additional edited photos beyond your package.
As mentioned previously, we offer exclusively edited images. Unedited versions are not available for purchase. Our editing process is part of the creative vision we deliver.
Client Satisfaction and Revisions:
Your Satisfaction Matters. We strive to deliver beautiful, edited images that you'll love. If you have any concerns about a specific edit, please don't hesitate to let us know. We'll do our best to achieve your desired outcome.
Throughout your session, we encourage you to ask for previews! This allows us to make any adjustments on the spot to ensure you're happy with the progress.
We reserve the right to refuse service or discontinue a session if any attendee exhibits disruptive or disrespectful behavior such as unreasonable demands or critiques that hinder the photographer's workflow.
While we can't control the weather or unforeseen circumstances, we'll work creatively to capture stunning images despite these factors. Ultimately, outfit selection, hair, makeup, and posing choices are personal decisions that contribute to your final photos.
Location Permits and Fees:
Some locations may require photography permits or fees. We recommend researching and securing any necessary permits in advance. You, the client, are responsible for any fees associated with your chosen location. We are not responsible for fees incurred from independent location bookings.
We reserve the right to decline shooting at locations not discussed in advance, if required fees are not settled, or if safety concerns arise.
Studio Sessions:
Our studio is available for all studio package bookings and add-ons. No additional booking is required to utilize the studio during your session.
Please limit the number of guests you bring to in-studio sessions to two, especially if they are not part of the session.
Booking Fee:
A 50% retainer fee is required at the time of booking to confirm your session date and secure our services for your event.
This fee is non-refundable.
Note: Some sessions require full payment at the time of booking.
When is the remaining balance due, and am I able to pay it off in advance?
The remaining balance of your session fee is due two days prior to your session date. We offer several convenient payment options (listed on the invoice) to settle your balance.
Send us an email requesting any wishes to pay your balance off in advance.
Please note that any payments made towards a payment plan or early payments are considered non-refundable. These payments act similarly to a deposit and secure your booking.
How should I prepare for changing clothes during my session?
Our studio is equipped with a changing room. For outdoor locations, it's advisable to scout for spots that offer privacy for changing. Alternatively, you can request that we bring our portable changing tent to facilitate wardrobe changes.
Do you provide props or offer creative studio setups/sessions?
With sufficient notice, we can accommodate your request for specific props, subject to an additional fee.
For full creative setups/sessions and custom props, an extra fee will apply, which will be invoiced separately from your session booking. You have the option to either proceed with your idea and pay the associated fee or adjust your concept while retaining your booked session.
